Information about PWP Tech's Web Hosting:

Do you own your own Servers?
Yes. We own all our own servers. All servers are custom built by PWP Tech.

What is your uptime?
We strive for 100% uptime. Read "reliability" in the What to expect from shared hosting, which is located below. If our servers are having problems we will refund your payment for that month, but email us when in doubt.

Do you own your own data center?
No, we do not. This keeps our over head low. Owning your own data center is very expensive. A lot of hosting companies say they own their data center, when this is not true. Often they just lease a small space in a larger data center. We only place our servers is reliable data centers with ample bandwidth.

How does the process work?
When you are ready to sign up for web hosting, you are directed to our sign up page at http://hosting.pwptech.com and you fill out all the information needed and select your plan. Once your payment is received, you account is automatically set up on the web server. Once we review your account, it is set live.

What are your support options?
We have a phone number to reach us, but often we are not available to answer it. You are welcome to leave a message, but the best way to reach us is email. You can email support@pwptech.com

Can PWP Install their scripts on my hosting account?
Yes, upon payment of any of our scripts we can install them in your hosting account (provided by us) for no charge.

Can you install [pick a program] on your server for me to use?
Depending on the type of program and fees, we can install the program on our servers. Please ask for more details. This does include registering custom DLL's.

Do you allow adult content on your servers?
No. Allowing adult content increase the odds of attack on a server. Any one caught using our servers for porn will be banned and NO refund will be issued. When in doubt, please email us for approval.

What kind of servers do you use?
We custom build all of our servers. Currently, our new servers are using dual AMD Opteron processors, 4 GB of RAM, SAS hard drives in Raid 1 configuration, and Windows 2003 Standard.

What control panel do you use:
Once upon a time, we used Plesk for our control panel. We found it to be too slow and expensive for our needs. We have since switched to DotNetPanel, which is .Net based. It is a great control panel and it allows you to easily manage your account and web site settings.

What to expect from shared web hosting:

Performance:
Often you can get very good performance from a shared web host. It is important to keep in mind that their are other users using the server too. Our experience has been that often shared web hosting, when greatly oversold is a problematic. We do not over sell our servers, so we have better control. If you have a really demanding web site, no matter who's shared hosting you use, you are going to have problems.

Reliability:
Generally speaking shared hosting is moderately reliable. People who promise 99.9% uptime, usually do not deliver, and here's how. First, it is impossible for you to watch your web site 24/7. Slowness does not break their uptime "guarantee", only being down. Next, remember to read the fine print. If you do read the fine print, their guarantee only covers one month, so they are really not out anything. It is strictly a gimmick. We try to deliver 100% uptime, but we and no one else can guarantee it! The only way to get near 100% uptime is to have multiple mirrored servers at different data centers (which is way to expensive for shared hosting).

Truth:
The truth hurts. We try to deliver the truth even when painful. If you have doubts about our service, sign up for one month, then reevaluate our service.
